Celebrating Women...for the Real World
Monday, July 25, 2005 Celebrating Extraordinary Women

We polk a lot of fun at ourselves. We find the humor in most everyday things. But at the same time we always want to remind ourselves that we are ALL extraordinary. Take some time and read what these other extraordinary women have said:

HELLEN KELLER
“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose."

MARGARET THATCHER
If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.

ELEANOR ROOSEVELT
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

CONTANCE BAKER MOTLEY
(First Black Woman in the U.S. to become a Federal Judge)
“Something which we think is impossible now is not impossible in another decade.”

LOUISA MAY ALCOTT
“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.”

MARIA MITCHELL
We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us, and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see, the more we are capable of seeing.
