I was surfing and ran across another site called Sleeping Mommy. She has a wonderful write up for July 4th that you should really take the time out to read. Here is a little taste of her writing to wet your whistle:

"Today isn't about fireworks and cook outs and basking in the sun. There is a lot more to this date in history, ladies and gentlemen.Please take a few minutes to acknowledge what the forefathers of the great nation of the United States did and sacrificed to give us what we so proudly hold dear today. At least some of us hold it dear, others of us take it for granted as we sit about on our lazy butts and live our lives with a sense of entitlement and judgment."
