Celebrating Women...for the Real World
Friday, March 23, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday....Part Deux!

FRIDAY!!! My favorite day of the week would be FRIDAY!!! Of course that means that it is time for Stuff Portrait Friday; brought to you by the very sick (and needs to get well) Kristine over at Random and Odd.

She made it easy for us today. Our assignment is "TWO" and for us over here at Celebrating Women that could only mean:

Sheri & SuZan

(aka Thelma and Louise)

So for TWO-DAY (bwahahahahah) we give you our TWO favorite beverages...Coffee & Margaritas (preferably not together).

So let us know if you played and go and cheer up Kristine to help her feel better.

Friday, March 09, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday...Luggage Style

TGIF! Finally Friday is HERE! This afternoon will mark the start of Spring Break (woo hoo). This week Kristine wants us to take a picture of our luggage. Good thing she didn't ask us for a picture of our baggage, because we would be here all day.

When I talked to Sheri about SPF she told me that her luggage is up in the attic so she told me "I think I will pass".

My Luggage

So you see my luggage is plain, boring and black. Nothing exciting, especially looking for it at the baggage claim at the airport. Sheri is always talking about her OCD, w-e-l-l, I think there is a little OCD in all of us. See the coffee press on top of my luggage? I never travel without it. First thing I pack is my coffee press, freshly ground beans and my creamer. Yep...a little OCD myself.

So tell us...did you play? Go let Kristine know if you did too.

BTW:
.

Say Happy Birthday to Big G, he hits the bit 40...............something (hehehe). Happy birtday honey; I love you!

Friday, February 23, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday...List Style

IT'S FRIDAY!!! I can't tell you how thrilled I am that it is Friday. I think one more weekend and I can get well...FINALLY. Anyway this week Kristine wants to see our lists and maybe a doodle while we are at it. Well I am a list person and can't seem to function without them.

MY LIST

I have written lists everywhere (even the week's dinner menu on the fridge) but I thought that I would show you my attempt to bring out the geeky me with my PDA. This is a list of my coworkers. I don't like having my phone full of programed numbers so I have the numbers listed in my PDA as a quick reference when I need to contact someone.

MY DOODLE
So here is my doodle. I'm not artistic so I give you just a little game of tic-tac-toe to pass the time. This happened at the last continuing ed conference I attended, the therapist next to me and I had some fun.

So let us know if you played; and let Kristine know also.

Friday, February 16, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday...Free Style

It is another Friday that has rolled around, and Kristine wants our take on the word "Free". The first thing I thought of was Freedom, I could do a lot with that. But it is Friday, and I'm still a bit sick and half brain dead so the obvious "Free" this week is what a lot of us are searching for:

Fat-Free!

Always searching for the perfect, delicious, Fat-Free snack. Most of the stuff is disappointing (above), other stuff is quite tasty and satisfying (below).

Friday, February 09, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday!

This week, Stuff Portrait Friday has us seeing RED. Taken by Kristine by suggestion of our "weather girl" wants us to take a picture of something RED. Let us know if you played and be sure to go and let Kristine know that you played too.

The only thing RED that stood out was this kitty. This is a cat toy, and I brought it home for Mercedes. She played with it one time, and then just ignored the thing. So why do I have still up? Because it is on the back door, and when Zeus (the dog) wants to go outside, he rings the bells. Pretty clever eh?

RED

BONUS

For a bonus shot I decided to share the last of my stash of Christmas Blend...sigh...don't know what I'm going to do!

Friday, February 02, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday!

It is Friday again, so that means it is time for SPF! Kristine wants us to get our creative juices going this week and have given us this assignment:

Buttons.

"It could be a ‘button’ nose, butterscotch ‘buttons’, clothes buttons, button/pins, button flowers…you decide. Feeling creative?"

She even gave us hints and suggestions but there does not seem to be any creative juices flowing in my veins this week. I figure I'll just give you random buttons (get it...random and odd). What would be creative about this shot? Well I did find the black and white button (pardon the pun) on my camera.

Bonus:
Now...had Kristine wanted ribbon; I do have this gaudy sweater with all this ribbon on it.

Friday, January 12, 2007 Stuff Portrait Friday!

OK, so we have another week with no SPF assignment. TKW is going to go nuts having to think of things to ramble on and on and on about (she said it...not me). So, she is unofficially (and completely without permission) hi-jacking SPF this week. Her assignment….should we choose to accept it is:

1. A houseplant (or something of similar intelligence)
2. Something you secretly enjoy but bitch about anyway
3. Something gross...the grosser the better, I say...

MY HOUSEPLANT
This is my one and only living plant in the house. As much as I have abused it, it lives on. Poor plant has to droop all it’s leaves before it hits me that I do need to water it from time to time. When it’s nice and hydrated it looks great.

SOMETHING I ENJOY
(but bitch about anyway)
Oh that has to be Zeus. He keeps trying to get at Mercedes’ litter box and picking out some h'orderves. He is soooooooo smart, and yet, he eats cat poo.

SOMETHING GROSS

Oh that would be said litter box. I need to get one like Carries' (her cats'....STOP IT) that will clean itself. Now we all know that TKW will be able to top us all with the "Something Gross" pictures. We all know she has dirty diaper pictures...I've seen them!

~~~~~~~~~~
Since this week is National De-lurking week, feel free to de-lurk and say "hi!"
~~~~~~~~~~

So tell us…did you play?

Friday, December 01, 2006 Stuff Portrait Friday!

This SPF brought to you by the lovely Kristine; is going to be very interesting to see everyone’s perception. So for this week, our assignment is to take a picture of:

1. Something that makes you go “hmmmm.”
2. Something Sweet
3. Something Retro.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMMMM!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm look at that! There’s this cat in our house that thinks she is Godzilla whenever I set up my Christmas village. You see…she is trying out her butt to see if it still fits on the bar (she has put on 2 pounds since her surgery). Oh and that is Big-G; being the studly manly man by helping me out by in the kitchen.

SOMETHING SWEET

Anything chocolate is a Good Thing.

SOMETHING RETRO
Now this one is hard in this house, but I did finally come up with something…our toothpick holder and that skillet belonged to Big-G's grandmother so that would be retro too…..taaa daaaaa.

So tell us…did you play?

Friday, November 17, 2006 Stuff Portrait Friday!

It’s hard to believe that it is time for SPF again! This week, Kristine wants to dedicate SPF to Janelle to honor National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Our assignment:

1. Something you seize (as in seizure, get it?)
2. Something that shakes (because you shake when you have seizures)
3. And something purple (because purple is the color for National Epilepsy Awareness Month!

SOMETHING I SEIZE

This one I will take more literal. Both of my G’s have each had a seizure. Each time I think I aged at least ten years. When G2 had his I was there, and it is true that training kicks in. I was calm and did what I needed to do but in the ambulance once G2 was fully conscious, the EMT made me lie down and gave me oxygen. Big G’s came on some years later when he was playing a video game (yes, strobe type lighting can trigger seizures in some people) at lunch. I got to the hospital as fast as I could. Both are fine today and I don’t care to have to go through that type of situation again.

SOMETHING THAT SHAKES

It shakes where I grew up. I give you Mexico City and boy can it shake. There is nothing like waking up in the morning on the floor because you have been thrown out of the bed from an earth quake (that only happened once). The strongest Earthquake I’ve been in was 6.5 on the Richter Scale.

SOMETHING PURPLE

I couldn’t think of anything in the house that is purple so then it hit me…why not use one of the pictures from the boy’s Colorado trip. I figure, what better purple than from America the Beautiful? So I give you…Purple Mountain’s Majesty.

Friday, November 10, 2006 Stuff Portrait Friday!

I’m finally returning to the living…just in time for SPF! This week, Kristine wants us to think a little ‘out of the box’. We can make it as hard or as easy as we want this week. Our assignment:

1. YES!
2. NO!
3. MAYBE.

Since every day revolves around these three words. This is the yes, no or maybe in our house right now.

YES

The “yes” has been nice as we no longer are chauffeurs for G2. Now that he has his own wheels he actually runs some errands for me.

NO

Of course with the “yes” leaves us with a big fat “no money” in our wallets. Just wait till you get the insurance bills!

MAYBE

G2’s Senior year brings all kinds of maybes. Maybe he will go here:

…or maybe he will go here:

…or maybe he will go here:

…I know he would like to go here:

How funny. I didn't tell SuZan I was going to play. Tee Hee! So I'm going to sneak mine in. I kind of cheated. I was going to post one picture for all three. But, I know you'd be disappointed. So here are mine:

My Tennis Shoes (Sneakers to you Yankees). This is a yes- I planned to go to the gym today. No-I really didn't want to go. Maybe I won't be sore tomorrow when I wake up.

Yes-this is my knee. No-it's not happy that I went to the gym. Maybe-I'll actually sit down, elevate, and ice it. A wee little bit swollen there. Ouch.

Finally-Yes, that's my son's number. No-I can't believe he's a Senior. Maybe-We'll win tomorrow!

TGIF! That means it must be time for SPF. Well, Kristine says that she is feeling lazy…SOOO she is going to make it easy on us this week. That is good because I have been sick in bed most of the week and so my SPF is not so imaginative this week. Our assignment:

1. The Good
2. The Bad
3. The Ugly

THE GOOD

Our pets when they are sleeping look like little angels. Of course I chose Mercedes because now that she is well and fully recuperated from her surgery, is acting so sweet. So for this week, she is the good.

THE BAD

Yep, I caught him. We wondered why the dog sometimes wreaks havoc around the house at night and here is my answer. The dog likes coffee! Sorry the photo is fuzzy but I had to click fast. He is drinking my coffee here and we figured out that when he drinks my precious brew, he pulls stunts like this while we sleep because HE dosen't:

THE UGLY

You know, I find nothing warm and fuzzy (pun intended) about Lewi, our lizard. So he gets “the ugly” vote this week.

TGIF! Yeah…it’s Friday! Of course that means that it’s time SPF; sponsored by the lovely Kristine over at Random And Odd. If you play, go by and let Kristine know you did. This week she has requested pictures of:

1. Your Label — If you made clothes, what would your label be? What kind of clothes would you make?

2. YOUR personal Label — We all hate to be labeled, but sadly we are. What is YOUR label? Can you capture it in a picture? Are you just going to write it on a scrap of paper and take a picture of it? Do you have a picture that shows us what it is?

3. Your FAVORITE Label — I like Target clothes cause they are comfortable and they don’t usually have tags in them. Some people love Coach bags (I’m not saying any names, but the brat is in the picture below this post) and some people just like the look of certain label. Show us yours.

MY LABEL

Hmmmm? Last weekend I happen to see that Sheri’s daughter J had the cutest Coach purse. I threatened and have been contemplating ways to snag that puppy up.

:)

MY PERSONAL LABEL

I picked this representation of a label because sometimes I can wear my emotions on my sleeve. I try to be cool and maintain a flat affect but it just doesn’t happen. As you can probably guess, I’m not that great at poker.

MY FAVORITE LABEL

This one was so easy! Like Mama Duck, (who introduced me to the phrase “Targasm”) I am crazy about Target. The sight of that red bull’s-eye just gets me salivating, when I tell Big G that I’m off to Tarr-gget, he starts having heart palpitations…and we will just leave it at that.
